How to Choose the Right Door Hardware for Your Composite Door

Posted

From handles and hinges to locks and letterplates, the hardware you choose to finish your Endurance Door can sometimes become a more difficult decision than the actual door itself.

See, the hardware is probably more important than you think, and it’s something you should consider when choosing who to buy your door from in the first place. When you invest in a new front door, we believe in allowing our homeowners to make it truly their own. We appreciate that quality hardware enhances both style and strength and contributes greatly to your desired aesthetic.

Join us as we walk you through the key things that you should consider when choosing the right hardware for your door.

Types of Door Handles & Knobs

The handle is one of the most visible and frequently used elements of your door, so it’s worth some careful consideration before making your choice.

We have different handles available across ten different ranges, so you can find exactly the style, look and function for you. Whether you’re looking for a simple, traditional or modern finish, we have the perfect final touch for you.

If you’re after a classic look, you should check out our aptly named classic range. Our Lever Handles and Lever Pads are available in various colours, including Black, Bronze, Chrome and Graphite – so you’re sure to find the ideal combination for your home.

For a more contemporary look, our Architectural hardware range is designed to suit our Urban doors and to add some modern sleekness to your entrance. Available in Chrome, Gold and Graphite, our Architectural Lever Handles and Lever Pads could be the choice for you.

Locking Mechanisms and Security Features

Security should always be the top priority for any front door. Fortunately for you, choosing Endurance means you don’t have to weigh up your wants and needs – you get a comprehensive style choice with a secure door to match.

All of our doors are fitted with multi-point locking systems. They extend further up and down the door than regular locking systems, and engage multiple bolts and hooks into the frame to resist forced entry effectively.

These locking systems integrate seamlessly with the ABS Master Cylinders, which are also featured on each of our doors. They’re designed to give you complete peace of mind and make you as safe as possible in the comfort of your home.

The ABS cylinder has even earned impressive approval from Kitemark, Sold Secure Diamond Grade and SBD. You can be sure that our high-security composite doors will keep your property safe and sound.

We’re so confident in our locks that, if your door is compromised via the ABS Master Cylinder, we’ll reimburse you with £2000. Simply register your door after installation by one of our trusted installers, and your guarantee will be activated!

Maintenance Tips for Door Hardware

Our hardware, and more broadly our doors, are designed to require minimal maintenance to keep them at their best. Though, even the best entrances may need a little love every so often.

We recommend that you clean your door regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and mild soapy water, avoiding any harsh chemicals or abrasives.

We also find that locks are kept running smoothly with the help of ABS Lock Lube. It’s what we recommend to our installers and is very effective in fixing stiff or difficult locks. Apply it directly into the keyhole for 1-2 seconds and then rotate the key. Good as new!
