At Endurance, respect for the environment has always been more than words. It is a guiding principle from which our way of operations and innovation comes. It is significant in our opinion that the company not only works on reducing its footprint on the environment but also sets standards for sustainability in the manufacture of doors. A look at steps to align business in eco-friendly practice.
Sustainability at the Heart of Our Products: Of all the steps, probably the most critical on our journey was to make sure the products themselves create a positive outcome for the environment. All our doors, from material content to manufacture and beyond, have sustainable design principles right at the heart of each product. The timber at the core of the composite door range is taken from sustainably managed Finnish forests; for every one tree harvested, four more trees are replanted to contribute toward further reforestation and building crucial ecosystems.
Additionally, we’ve taken measures to make our products carbon-negative. The Kerto Core used in our doors acts as a carbon sink, storing more CO2 than is emitted during the manufacturing process. This innovative approach not only ensures high-quality, durable doors but also helps combat climate change by reducing overall carbon emissions.
Reducing Waste and Embracing Circular Economy Practices
Waste reduction has been another critical focus area for us. We’ve implemented processes to recycle or repurpose as much material as possible during production. By minimising landfill contributions and turning by-products into usable materials, we’ve taken strides to align with the principles of a circular economy.
Investing in Renewable Energy
Transitioning to renewable energy sources has been a key priority. Our facilities are powered in part by clean energy, which significantly reduces our carbon footprint. This move not only supports global efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels but also underscores our commitment to leading by example in sustainable manufacturing.
Our Green Promise
In 2022, we leaned into that pledge to the next level by introducing our “Green Promise.” Actually, the initiative is the reflection of ourselves, being green right from raw material choice to the final packaging of our products. Such a wholesome approach ensures our commitment towards the environment percolates down at the grassroots levels in every aspect of our operations.
Engaging Our Team and Partners
Creating an environmentally friendly company is not about policies and technologies; it’s about people. We have worked relentlessly to engage our team in sustainable initiatives and to create a culture where each one of us has a role to play in minimising environmental impact. At the same time, we work closely with suppliers and partners to ensure that they share our commitment to ethics and sustainability.
What We’ve Accomplished
As we look back at our journey, we are proud of what really counts-the tangible results:
Carbon-Negative Products: Our carbon-storing Kerto Core composite doors help actively reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Timber Practices: We have sourced all the wood in a way that ensures traceability and always comes from well-managed forests to increase biodiversity and support reforestation.
Waste Management Success: Our efforts in recycling and reutilisation of materials have drastically reduced waste, setting up a circular economy within the production of our products.
- Renewable Energy Adoption: The introduction of clean energy into production contributed to minimising our greenhouse gas footprint.
- Continuous Innovation: Under the Green Promise, we developed a framework that made sure sustainability was at the core of all our practices.
This is not all. Sustainability for us is an ongoing journey toward better practices, product innovation, and inspiring peers in our business to take responsibility for the sake of the planet. Together, we can make a lasting difference – one door at a time.
